According to the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA) the 66 sunbelt countries could have 1.1 TW of installed solar PV capacity by 2030.
This would generate electricity for over 300 million people and would make up 2.6-6% of the sunbelt’s overall power generation.
The 66 sunbelt countries have a population of 5 billion people (75% of the world population). Those countries face important energy challenges. Over the next 20 years demand of electricity will grow with 150%.
